The Tool Gun is an essential tool in Garry's Mod that allows players to manipulate a variety of functions to create different things. The gun itself looks like a revolver with wiring and a screen on the back, displaying the tool being used. Also, items in the GUI menu can be spawned using this. The types of tools the game comes with by default are constraints, construction, posing, render. Addons can add tools and tool types.
Technical Details[]
The Tool Gun is a revolver that is highly modified with electrical wiring and other assets. It resembles a Colt Single Action Army. Firstly, the gun is fitted with a motherboard on the top of the frame with a ribbon cable connecting to a mini LCD screen taped on top of the revolver. The cylinder has been replaced a spinning spool of copper wiring which spins when the gun is fired. Under the spool is a battery with a wire connected to by possibly what seems to be a small circuit, powered by the spool, as a red wire can be seen connecting both. The hammer is missing and the ejector rod is strangely towards the center instead of off to the side. It also has no loading gate.
Common Tool Options[]
The Camera, Color, Trails, all Constraint tools, and all Construction tools that have configuration except for the Duplicator tool have presets where a player can load, save, edit, and delete presets of the configuration for such tools. A player can't edit or delete the "Default" preset. All tools with width have options for the rope/cable/beam material and the color of such material.
